To the left is the finished web handling system we installed. Included were a touch screen interface, vector drives for the winder and an Automation Direct PLC, with touch-screen, for machine and heater control. We custom-designed software to allow the shift production totals to be accumulated for daily collection.

We even gutted the winder control station and reworked it for Delphi! (See below)

 

On the left is the old system. The winder controls were mounted on the winder station. They were phase controlled AC drives (not inverters). We eliminated a considerable amount of downtime with our retrofit! The analog DC drives, once state-of-the-art from Reliance, were replaced with new digital Control Techniques Mentor II Regen drives. On the right is good rolls coming off the line!
